Interests: |
Dr. Shadd has a clinical and research focus in palliative care. His particular interest is in primary palliative care - supporting the formal and informal caregivers who make it possible for people to spend their last days at home. Specifically, he studies patterns of care provided by family physicians and the function of the complex, real-world, distributed 'teams' that care for palliative care patients in the community. He also participates in research regarding primary care electronic medical records, with a focus on what EMRs can teach us about family physicians' referral patterns.
