Resident Project Day
*Please note that there is only
ONE Resident Project Day held each year. If you would like to compete for Resident Project Awards then you must submit your project by February 28th of your PGY2 year, regardless of your start date.
- You are required to present your project either as a 10-minute oral presentation or as a poster.
- If you are not able to present at Resident Project Day you must make arrangements to present your project at your Family Medicine Centre in order to successfully complete all your Project Requirements.
- Faculty will evaluate all Resident Projects and prizes will be awarded for:
- Best Overall Project
- Best Research Project
- Best Project Presentation (Resident Project Day)
- Best Poster Presentation (Resident Project Day)
Poster Presentation Requirements
If your poster does not meet these
requirements you will NOT be eligible for Resident Project Awards.

Poster Size must be 3 feet wide by 4 feet tall (portrait style)

Poster can be presented in colour or black and
white

Poster must have the Schulich and Western
Logos
- Be present
at your posted during dedicated breaks on Resident Project Day to respond
to the evaluator’s questions

Be prepared to provide a brief (2
minute maximum) overview of your project/poster for the evaluator on Resident
Project Day

TIP: Save your poster as a PDF before sending off for printing. This will ensure your poster is printed exactly as you want it to.
Oral Presentation Requirements
Presentation to be
sent to the Resident Project Coordinator
at least ONE WEEK prior to Resident Project Day
(May 25th
- 2011 Deadline).
- Presentation
should be no longer than 10 minutes in length (5 minutes allotted for Question
& Answer following the presentation)
- Visual
presentation should be prepared in PowerPoint (or
similar program)
